Anyone hear about a bass boat capsizing against the locks near evansville??

Just got a text asking if i knew who this was,Haven't heard anything about it says it was near some locks on the ohio and got pulled against the walls and overturned at least one was killed. Anyway just seeing if anyone has heard or known when this happened??

Was in the paper yesterday(CJ). Newburg IN. Two men in a bassboat got trapped against the dam . Said the boat capsized due to the current boiling the water and that a near by boat helped one form the water but could not get to the other. According to the paper they were both wearing PFD's.

Very sad indeed. they could not get their motor started and got pulled in to the dam. A whirpool flipped their boat.

The guy that died had lost his daughter in the 2006 tornado that hit Evansville. He and his wife were raising his daughters kids.

Prayers for his wife and grandchildren.

crazy stuff, Always in the back of my mind when i see ppl getting way to close to dams and locks on the river.

According to the news they where well outside of the 150' mark. Don't know what happened but it is tragic and a grim reminder of how dangerous it is around the dams. to the families.

From what I understand they were well away from the dam next to the Kentucky side where there is an eddy. That is what pulled them back to the dam from what I understand. Lots of current there both up and down stream. God bless them and their family. From what I have been told, they did nothing wrong, just had mechanical trouble.
