Need Rough River help

My buddy and I have a regional tourny at the end of September on Rough and ive never been to the lake before in my life...we'll be going down a couple weekends to practice but im just looking for some areas to start in,what baits those fish usually like,just some things to expect about the lake...im not looking for your secret holes just areas to get us started in...any info is greatly appreciated

Just curious if anybody knows how many boats in your tourney,we have a 2 day tourney same weekend same ramp.....parking lot will be full

Oh great. There was about 48 last year so I would say a little more than 50 this year. Akebono is having their club tourney that weekend too out of Laurel Branch. It says 15 boats on the KDFW website.

hey brandon. we are having a fund raiser down at rough on sept 12. it is to benefit a non profit org called reel recovery. they take guys in remission from cancer on fly fishign trips. its a buddy tournament and is $70 a boat i think. pay back is 60% and there is a big fish pot. I can get you more info if you want. Would be a good time to get down there and practice for it. I will be a great time and is for a good cause. If you bring alot of business from the east i might even show you a few of the honey holes.

I'll be fishing the Akebono tourney...ya'll leave me a spot out there someplace!!!! I work with KattFish...I'll give him directions to Barren so we will have at least one boat out of our hair!!!!!!!

last year if i'm not mistaken there was in the area of upper 50's low 60's at the usa bassin so dave should be about right,i know of a couple more small clubs..15 or so boats each.. sounds like a great day..
