All caught on Pickwick! That lake has been producing some monster bags of fish!
Here is the guys report.....
Water temp: 54-56 degrees
flow/24 avg. cfs: approx. 35.6k
Randy Wiek e-mailed yesterday to tell me that "the stars had aligned"
just right at work, and he was going to be able to fill the last
minute Tuesday opening. Well, the stars were still aligned this
morning, too--and what a shame it would have been had no one been able
to come and fill the slot!
It was just the two of us, and we put a spanking on those big
smallmouths today! Five best weighed 29-9 on the Chatillons, and the
10 best were well over 50 pounds (estimating 52-53 pounds, maybe a
little more). We didn't weigh two more five pound class fish we had,
and none of the many well into the 4's. Don't need to when your
catching GIANTS like we were fortunate to stick today!
Also had a 16 pound striper, a few drum, and a catfish, but everything
else was bronze! What a day! All on swim baits, and I was diligent to
keep Kick'n Bass craw on my bait.
Randy will be back next week from Hendersonville, TN, for three days
with friend Dave Mansell. That is a boatload of fishing talent I'll be
hauling around, and I can't wait to see what they come up with! Thanks!
God bless,
Steve
