    15 lbs winning the BFL

I heard that Billy S. and Mark Mauldin was tied in the BFL today with 15 pounds. Looks like the weight is way down, its tough out there right now.

...tough was an understatement...it plain sucked....we probably caught 40-50 fish...only 3 keepers between us.....we were fishing ledges...from what I was told...all the better fish were caught shallow....the co angler big fish was caught in a foot of water.and one good sack was caught throwin buzzbait all day I did manage 1 keeper...should keep me in the regional

Re: 15 lbs winning the BFL (bassman502)

It was tough. I started out fishing deep but ended up going south Ky and hitting the grass. The last 1 1/2 hours I found a pocket of good fish. My co angler caught 3 they went around 9 lbs and made the cut in 5th. Me I couldn't connect on the good ones. Had some tremendous blow ups on my frog but only caught 4 keepers that where the scranniest Ky lake fish I have ever seen. Four fish that only weighed 6.12. They did help me secure a spot in the regional. My first full year and going to lake Cheroke.

We are in the fall transition now...weights always go down during this time. I see Scotty Young managed a big bag yesterday and blew everyone away though.

I qualified as a co-angler for the Kentucky lake regional threw the buckeye division. I have never been to kentucky lake, hopefully I am in for a suprise. I have no idea what even to throw at this point. Time for some research.

I would for sure bring some ribbet frogs. Just in case you end up fishing grass.
