    Hello from Hopkinsville

Just wanted to say Hello. I have been reading on here for the past week or so and have learned a great deal from the board.

I am looking forward to a change in the weather so I can take my new (to me) toy out on the water.

If anyone needs a back seat angler I would be game. I can fish most any weekend and sometimes during the week.

Thanks for all the great reading and hope to see you on the lakes.

    David

    Re: Hello from Hopkinsville (Stratos282DC)

My name is David Cornelius. Lived in Hopkinsville most of my life.

I used to fish quite a bit on Barkley and Beshear then work and life got too busy and I have not fished in quite some time.

Kids are getting older now giving me more time and I am ready to hit the lakes again.

I bought this boat back in the Fall and have not had it in the water yet. I cleaned it up and fixed a few things on it that were needing attention. The person that owned it took very good care of it and I don't think it has that many hours on it.

Just put 3 new bats in it as well as a new onboard charger. Started it up on Monday in the driveway.

Now the weather channel is calling for snow. What a bummer.

She is very understanding. Will be just like a continuation of deer season.

Been working on my rods and tackle already.

I have fished in the past with mostly spinning rods. Got a few new baitcasters now and have to get used to them.

    Re: Hello from Hopkinsville (nkyangler)

    Thanks guys.

Just came back from Wal Mart. Based on advice from the board I bought some Power Pro line to redo a couple of my reels while the snow is coming down.

Maybe we will have some decent weather soon.

    Re: Hello from Hopkinsville (nkyangler)

I hope so. Will be nice to put my boat in the water for the first time.

Good thing is with all of the bad weather I am getting a bunch of stuff fixed on the boat.

About the only thing I have left is getting a new sonar for the console.

Skip Walmart and head over to the cabin bait shop by the Kutawa boat ramp. They have a ton of baits and won't steer you wrong if you ask for help.

Its like everyone is starting to come out of the woodworks down here!! You will really like the powerbraid pro by the way that is one of the few things I do pickup from Walmart. You can go light on the lb test if you are using on a spin cast but I would go at least 50+ for a baitcaster.

    Re: Hello from Hopkinsville (fishingmarlin)

I will hit that place up the next time I am up there. I had to head to Wal Mart anyway to stock up on a few things before it starts snowing.

Thanks for the advice on the Braid. I wouldn't have thought to use 50#.

Been doing a good deal of casting in the yard over the past week. Several of my reels are loaded with Vanish Transition line right now. I have one of my baitcasters that needs loading now though. The line on it now is probably 5-6 years old.
