Looking for a place to go with-in about 4hrs drive from northern KY for a long weekend around June. I will have my girlfriend and her son. That means it can't be entirely fishing based but definitely good fishing around. Camping or cabins not sure yet. Any suggestions and maybe some activities around suggested area?
Never been. Are there some other things to do to keep them entertained?

Which one is better KY or Barkley
The are connected by a canal at the north end, so you don't have to choose. Eddyville on Barkley is closer to you, but it's not that much further to the west side of Kentucky. Ask for the vacation planning package on the website.

Thanks for all of the info on Kentucky and Barkley lakes. I have heard a lot of good things about the two but have never made it down there.
