    Question on lodging guys

Guys, Thanks for all the help so far. Like I said before I am coming up from North Alabama for the Fishers of Men regionals. With that said, I am looking for somewhere I could possibly tent camp up towards the dam around the 17th and 18th. My recently bloody divorce has left me slightly strapped to say the least and was hoping one of you might be able to recomend a clean and safe park maybe where they allow tent campers. I would also like to thank all of you for all the help and invite you to come by Moor's during the T and say hello. My partner and another team from our division are sharing a cabin then. Thanks again for all your generocity and if you are ever in North Alabama, please give me or my partner Eric201proxl a call. Thanks again Kerry

Hillmans Ferry Campground in the LBL just across the water from Moors
They also have two decent ramps in the campground.

There is a campground at Ky Dam Village State Resort Park but it is not on the water but a nice campground. You might check with Big Bear Resort...they have camping there and it is located in the same bay as The Moor's with a full service Marina....it would keep you from having to cross the lake in the dark to make launch time which can be a big plus especially if it is rolling.

I'd second Hillman's Ferry. Good showers and it has two ramps that are only open to campers. $16 a night for a site with electricity.

I just stayed this past Monday with my daughter. We rented an electric site in area "A" by the beach and boat ramp. This was here first overnight camping trip and we both had a blast. I can't say I enjoyed sleeping in a tent in the early part of Sept. This camp ground has a small store and showers. I highly recommend it. It is approximately 6 miles from Grandrivers and 15 minutes from KY dam.

Hillman's Ferry is definitely a nice campground...but if you don't know the lake and you are launching from the Moor's you will either have a 30 to 40 minute drive to get to the Moor's every morning of the tournament or you will be crossing the lake in the dark, which is not good when you don't know the lake...especially coming into Big Bear from the east side of the lake.

Dave's right. (Trying to pump you up a little, Dave, after the incident with your keys ) That's why a GPS is so important on Kentucky or Barkley. Once you have the route, you can run across the lake at will. Study a map and subtract 5ft from the numbers on it and you'll understand.

I've seen many a bird standing out in the middle of the lake at the mouth of bear creek.
