The best type I've found have the fingers cut off but has a hood that you can swing over them. Something else I have used with these gloves is the small toe warming heat packs work great in the finger cover part of the glove and really help to keep your fingers warm.
remeber those camo shooting gloves I have?? they are by far the best I have used. Get you a pair of reciever gloves or batting gloves. That would have to be the best in my opinion.
You might try the Footjoy Winter Golf Gloves. I know it sounds funny, but they are great. I usually buy some type of waterproofer to spray them down with, and then they are good to go!
Eric, I bought some Mechanix Brand Gloves last year but have not fished in cold enough weather to give them a try yet. The ones I bought are very thin and flexible in the fingers and were designed to do relatively tedious tasks while wearing gloves. I think I bought the original ones. You can find them at car parts stores etc., like Advance Auto or NAPA etc. Here is a link to their website so you can do your research before shopping if you think you might like these.

I had heard the suggestion about golf gloves or batters gloves because they are thin enough to be useful on bass center one day. I got me a pair and really like them so far but I also have some nice fleece gloves that are fingerless with a foldover mitten style.
Get some of those heater packs and keep em in your pockets to warm you up occasionally.
You could also check out the new stuff Bill Dance has coming out. He has some plugin pants that warm using the cigarette lighter!!

I use the mechanix wear gloves too. They are very confortable and if it gets too cold, I just put my wool fingerless gloves on over them ...
Eric, I don't have a suggestion, if you find any let me know. I have about 6 pair and none of them work real well when it really gets cold.(for me is below 45)
Best thing I would suggest, is like some of the others said, those heater packs, in your pockets.
Keep your core super warm and the hands won't suffer nearly as bad. Trust me on this one!![]()
I've never thought about that Daniel. Makes sense 'cause I hadn't worn gloves in the winter until it got below freezing...just could feel anything. Maybe that's why I was able to do it. A friend of mine bought me a pair of lightweight neoprene gloves and now I'm hooked. You don't lose much feel and they'll keep your hands warm even if they are wet. I had tried the wool, jersey and others and I personally didn't like them as well as the neoprene.
If you guys have never heard of this site you need to check it out. I buy all of my cold weather gear there...excellent deals on thermals, pac boots, carhart clothes and a bunch of ski stuff. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/
Here are a pair of gloves for $5.95 that I just saw in there...they look like they'd work well...

So the neoprene gloves work pretty good? I've never tried them. Any other testaments on Neoprene?
I just used the fingerless ones last week with the heat packs (work great) but I hate having to go thru the little heat packs like that.
I like the neoprene - until they get wet, or my hands start to sweat. Then my hands get all cold and clamy and then i'm screwed...
I have the BPS Neoprene gloves and they are very good when dry, like these guys said, but wet they will freeze your fingers right off your hands. Plus, they do not dry quickly. I will keep a pair int he boat for dry weather but I need an option for the cold.
I was up at BPS last night, and they had some XPS Fishing Gloves - Gore-tex, pretty thin and all, but I felt like the thumb seams were just too bug and bulky for me. You might check them out. The other Brad just bought a pait of Under Armor gloves, and they seem pretty nice - Not waterproof, but I think they will work because they are thin and should dry quickly...
