    Nicknames...holes of water

I know about every major lake has a map with the names of the creeks on it but the locals always have nicknames for a particular hole of water. What are some of the more interesting names that you know of.

    the hawg lot
    contaminated hollow
    rod handle hollow
    white city beach
    boat yard hole
    furnace hole
    well house point

and I think every lake has a place that is called the blue hole.

One on the Ohio I know of they call the hot water or furnace hole...is where a power plant discharges its water back into the river. Is one hell of a place to fish when it gets cold, all the bait fish show up and every other kind of fish in the ohio river fallows. Never know what the hell you are going to hook.

There's a bay on KY lake I like to call "The Dead Sea" There's potty point in blood river. (old toilet sitting up on the hill that you can see when the leaves are off the trees). There is a little cut where a couple of girls like to lay out topless I call "Hooterville". There is a spot that's hard to get in and out of with your prop intact we call purgatory.

For us Indiana guys Brookville is known as the dead sea.
Monroe has outhouse point, Kelly's point, and a lot of places with no fish.

4 lb point...Dale Hollow Lake...not all that far from Trooper Island. Also happens to be a 7' G Loomis outfitted with a Curado on the bottom there that used to be mine. If you find the rod, you've found my favorite spot.
