Slow fishing heard round the state!!

Well to follow suit with everyone else I had a tough time down at Cedar Creek this weekend. Went down Saturday around 5pm and fishing until dark. I probably had around 30-40 hits several of those where good slams. I go to set the hook and nada!!!

My worms had teeth marks all over the bottom section. I ended up cutting the worm down and that just slowed down the bites. It was REALLY aggrevating!!

Went back down the next morning at 6am and we ended up boating 3 short fish all day. All my hot spots had fish but could not get them to bite, even my deep fish!! These fish usually will bite when everyone else cannot get a bite. They all had lockjaw on Sunday.

I thought it was just me. Lucas and I caught ~12 yesterday with 5 keepers, the biggest about 4-4.5. Thats a big difference from the 50 a week before.

It's the fishing and boating pressure if you ask me. I saw a boat on every point at Barren the other night. I can't wait till fall/winter when all the wimpy guys quit fishin!

Jeff - Normally I would agree with but this summer I changed up my tactics. I vowed this year I would learn how to use my electronics. Rather than spending a lot of time blind casting to spots that looked good I went to deeper water fishing channels, ledges, hidden spots.

I already have 5 spots on Cedar Creek that never have people on them. On the hottest of days with boats everywhere nobody hits these spots. This weekend there where less fish on those spots and little to no bites.

The nice thing is I am becoming a better offshore fisherman which was one of my weaknesses going into this year.

Fall means hunting and a lot of guys stop fishing to hunt, and the kids are back in school
