my boat made weird noises yesterday..

OK so yesterday i am out on the Columbia river and the swells were 3 and 4 footers so it was a pretty rough ride and my boat's on the old side ( and 88)
while i was running back to the ramp I'd have an intermittent noise coming from the the key/kill switch area. it was a metal grinding kind of electronic kind of a buzz. i kinda figured it is some kind of short because with my thumb rested on the trim button it went away.. i couldn't take the time to investigate because of the situation..
Any thoughts what the caused the noise and why?? thanks

Can't tell from the description but I'd swap out the old style Alarm horn to the new one, Don't have the number handy but I'm sure Rusty does, I've got to eat Pizza drink beer and watch the Race . CM

I'm with CM it may have been the alarm sounding for some reason. Possibly the rock'n and roll'n may have caused low oil alarm -- that's happened to me a couple time when the tank would be getting low and I'm running in rough water.
Check the alarm to see if it's going south on you.
