I have been watching the lake levels for Cumberland this week trying to determine how much the water has come up.
As of Sunday it was at 707.82
Now it is 708.72
I am figuring that means the water is up almost a foot, is that correct?

This summer, Halcomb's Landing, a boat launching area near the dam, will be moved to make way for a construction-staging area.
Then, over the next seven years, a concrete wall will be sunk into the earthen mound that makes up three-quarters of the mile-wide dam (the remaining quarter is concrete).</TD></TR></TABLE>

I have been watching the water levels all week and its been a gradual rise. They are also running 2 or more generators twice a day each day this week.

Hey thanks Billy! I was just talking to a guy yestyerday about Cumberlands Scheduled Dam work.
If it only rose a foot in 24 hrs well that is nothing. I have seen that lake rise 6-7 feet in one day. I remember one time a guy parked his truck in the parking lot at the dam where there is a small swag in the lot and that is the first place water enters the into the parking lot. Well the water was barely at his tires that morning but that afteernoon he had to get his ankles wet to make it too the truck. The water at Cumberlad can make some huge rises in elevation but we have not had no where near enough rain to cause a rise like that. As for the highest water I have ever saw a Cumberland ... I remember about 7-8 years ago you had to turn around on 127 and back down the entrance road to launch. Then you had to keep the motor trimmed up so you would miss the guard rail in the parking area
With the dam problems they are having they are going to TRY and not let Cumberland get over summer pool but mother nature always has the last word. If my memory is correct summer pool is 722 or 723
