2002 Rude 200hp High water pressure and alarm ??????????

    200 hp DFI model # E200FPLSN
While fishing today I noticed on my last move that my water pressure was higher than normal, even at idle. WOT was a lot higher. Ran for awhile and had an alarm go off, shut down and restarted no alarm but pressure was still high. Made the run to check in and had the alarm again. Would the pressure regulator cause this if it was stuck in the closed position. Not opening up for full flow at higher RPMs. My old laptop for my software is broke. Will have to look up the codes later.
    Any idea's ?????? Thanks

Checked the pressure reg valve. All looked good. Came up with a code 22, Water temp switch activation, code 25, EMM above expected temp. All this happened with plenty of water pressure. Actually higher than normal. I am going to temp check the t- stats, I would think if it was the t-stats I would have a problem at idle or lower RPMs. Thermostats opened on the money. Could I have gotten a air pocket in the cooling system. But that don't explane the higher pressure. What to check next. Thanks

You can retrieve your codes if posted hard by getting them from the TPS.

Please look at the last post. I did use the TPS to get the codes. Code 22 and 25. How do I get a overheat with such good water pressure. Got me stumped. Could it be the adaptor to powerhead gasket leaking exhaust in the water intake to elevate the water pressures. I did pull the t stats and do a flush on the engine. Did not notice anything that would plug anything up . Got me puzzled.

Gotta be specific here to get the correct answer. A warning horn will sound whenever there is a problem, and the gauge will illuminate one of the warning lights to tell what type of problem. Which light came on, the CHECK ENGINE or the HOT (TEMP) light?

The CHECK ENGINE would be an EMM overheat not an engine overheat. The EMM and fuel vapor assembly are cooled by different plumbing than the engine. Look for sand, mud, or salt restriction the EMM cooling lines.

It was the check engine light. I will check for a blockage at the EMM tonight after work. Thanks

I checked the EMM cooling lines and found a restriction in the inlet side of the vapor separator. Looked to be what we call duck work. That green stuff on top of the water. Anyway I blew that out and flushed with water. I will be able to put the boat in the water and check it out later this week. I would bet that was the problem .Thanks for the help. Dan
