Water sep/filter on 300hp Etec, good idea?

2008 300hp E-tec E300DPXSCS

Customer wants to install water sep/filter on boatside, this is additonal to the one on motor. I plan to use the brp one. Is this a normal install for this big E-tec? I don't want to introduce any restrictions. Any tsb's on this?

He said the motor will bog out of the hole, and not get to full rpms. He will change the motor's small water sep/filter, and the problem will go away for awhile.

Would this cause any warranty issues?

Installed filter, what owner wanted. When I started it, the LEDS showed injector fault in the running mode. NO system check lights though. Have you heard of this?
