Chamption or Seahorse ??? about orfices

    1999 J225HPLEEN V-6
Pulled the orfice out of the number 2 carb it has a 74D in it, I went ahead an put the 78D in the number 2 carb, But got thinking something anit right it's supposed to have the 76D in it I beleive. So I pulled the one out of the number 1 carb and it has a 74D in it also, for this motor just what ofrices should be in it??? On boats .net calls for the 76d I was just going up 2 sizes in the number 2 carb that gets the last of the gas off the rail ,any suggestions or enlightment is very muched thanked
The 74D seems to be the same size as the 78D , someone maybe go on a drilling party and just put 74D's drilled out in em all maybe suggestions please, thanks
Just pulled the number 3 carb orffice it was also a 74D???

according to shop.evirude.com , the 225HO motors use the 76 jets and the regular 225 has the 74's in it. You will have to check to see if you have the correct carbs for your motor, or if someone swapped them at one time.

Well if the 225 HO I have has had the carbs changed to the reg 225 carbs ,should I go ahead an put a 76D orffice in the number 2 carb
    From 74Dto 76D????
I check the carbs guess I'll go back out and pull the hood
Or maybe someone rebuilt and put wrong orffices in correct carbs hopefully
Carbs have sticker on them says

If it is an ho all the carbs should have 76 jets..... I had one years ago that got rebuilt, and the mech changed them to 74... it never ran right, so i finally found it...i promise if you change them back you will see a performance difference.

The model # says it's an HO, So it needs the 76d. I think in the notes once upon a time there use to be an astreiks that said if it was the ho to use the 76d and if it was the regular 225 use the other... They expensive little things!

I'm on the same subect with my motor right now, I had a 1999 225 H.O. and I have a factory manual for it. The website http://evinrude.cust.shopatron.com/" say's 1999 225 H.O. should have # 30 for the idle/intermediate air bleed and # 72D for the high. "Except HPL " which is the first three letters in (HPLEEN). Well my current carbs have 74D's for the high and #30 for the idle air bleed. Now I dont know if someone changed them but I surely I didnt!. What I wanna know is what is the next size to lean out the mid and top end on my motor now? My powerhead is no longer an H.O. it's just a standard 225 .

    I think 74d for the reg 225
    and 76d for the 225ho
Number 2 cy. would be a 76d in the reg 225 rest 74d
and number 2 cy would be a 78d in the 225ho rest 76d
