what happens if and/or when you hit the rpm rev limiter on a 250HO. i think it is set for 6200. will you just hear a beep, will the motors knock sensor kick in sending you to 2500 rpms, or will it simply stop the rpms from going any higher.

It will imit your RPM's (IE Slow them down) and you just keep going! At least thats what happened on my 2011! It dont put you in the safe mode or anything like that Ive seen anyway but I dont hold it there for 30 seconds either! Ive just hit it a few times going over waves and prop comes out of water!

Denny is right.... it just bumps you down kinda like it does in my Z-71. You will e able to run 6199 all day but when it gets to 6200 it will bump u down to 6199.... figure of speech not exact numbers.![]()
your motor will stutter at the limiter.like a bad miss.
Yep it feels like it is missing when you get to the limiter. I was all over it when I ran my 2 props from the L2 LU on the new M2 LU.

My understanding is that it double oils first and then taps you down.
We have just tested again the m2 gearcase now with a 28 powertech with extra cup. Wow! Hole shot very good and top speed 82 , rpm 5950. There is a trick and don't ask me why. Add a steel or a brass ring in the thrust washer ( it comes with the prop) measuring between a 25 cent coin. Without this aditional ring top speed drop to 77. The right thing to do is find a ring that fits perfectly in front of the thrust washer otherwise it can slip. Hope it work for you.
what rig are you running it on. and what is the brass ring you refer too
The boat is a stratos copy 19 295., 250 ho 2011, jack 10'. My email is egasizique@hotmail.com.
Email me so I can send you pictures showing the trick
sent you the pics. don't know which rig you have, but my boat weights 1400l and I've tested well above sea level, (3000ft). at sea level rpms will go to 6100, 6200 so I"ll
order a 28 repitched to 29
email me pictures of trick, flash@flashbutts.com
i did get the pictures , thanks, shocking that that made such a difference.

sorry guys, but could one of you explain to a idiot like me how to put images in this forum? I've tried but as you can see failed
None of the links work. You need to send them up to a hosting site like shutterfly and then post the pictures from there. Once they are on the hosting site select the property of the picture and then click on the mountain Icon on the post it should come up as [img][/img] center your cursor between the ][ and do a paste.
