    one cylinder is 70 psi

after chasing a top end power issue, the compression test on my 93 fastrike 150, model #VJ150GLETG and serial #G03245407, is as follows.

    Left Right
    121 120
    119 70
    110 112

The question I have is what is the probability that the rings are stuck on this one cylinder? I have run seafoam through engine recently thinking that this could be a fuel issue but nothing has changed. Today I did a compression test and the above results are what I found. Just wondering if the BRP engine would be worth trying or not.

Any help with this is appreciated greatly.
    Thanks, Nate

Re: one cylinder is 70 psi (sv10001975)

Wouldn't hurt to try. You may also want to pull the head on the starboard side and check for a bad O ring on #3. Have the head flat milled at a machine shop and replace all the O rings and reseal all the water passage faces with silicone. Use a 1/8" bead around the openings. Keep the bead 1/4" away from the openings.

    BTW welcome to BBC.

Championman, I wanted to ask you another question. I tried the oil in cylinder trick to see if the compression would go up trying to narrow down to see if the engine has a ring issue. When I did this the compression on the low cylinder went from 70 to 85, but not up like I have seen on engines with broken rings. Do you think I could have a reed valve issue that is causing this cylinder to have low compression? I purchased the engine tuner but haven't had time to use it. Just thinking about this situation and not being that familiar with 2 stroke engines just wondering if this was a possibility. I really appreciate your help on this situation.

    thanks,
    Thanks, Nate
