    Rubber Skin On Tire?

So I bought new wheels and tires for my trailer.
    Maxxis tires.

Anyways, it's been sitting there for about 2 weeks after I installed them, on top of the wood block to try and level the trailer for drainage.

So today was my first time driving with the new tires. ~7-8 miles round trip to put gas in the boat. When I got back, I noticed I had this layer of rubber skin on the tread of the tire. They appear to be inbetween the groove of the tread. Strips about 12" long. Easily peel the skin off. Thin, like latex gloves.

I checked the other side and it appears to be fine and dry.

What's the deal? Did I run over something sticky? Or is the tire falling apart?

    Photos?

I don't think I've ever heard of something like what you described, but photos would help.

If you got them local, I would go back to the shop that did the install and talk to them about it also. The sooner you report a problem, the better the chance they will want to swap out the tire as defective (if it is).

Its called "Mold release", left on the tires from the manufacturing process.
