    2002 Triton Boat Trailer

Let me start off by saying I live in Alabama and fish out of the Mobile River Delta. I have a TR21. The trailer has rusted out from under it to the point I am afraid to take the boat out anymore. After discovering that the tongue has rusted through on the sides as well as the bottom. If it broke while being towed, the boat would not stop until it hit something(someone) or came to a stop on its own. This trailer has the fiberglass fenders and alum rims on it.

    1. Can I get a new Triton Trailer (Galvanized channel frame) that will fit my hull?
    2. If not can I get a trailer and have my fenders and rims transferred to the new trailer as they still look good to be 9 years old?

I am trying to explore my options at this time and am not able to purchase a trailer tomorrow. I am simply asking for sudgestions /input on brands or dealers to contact. as I know there are many experts on this site and I have gotten good advice in the past.

Try calling Marine Master Trailers in Tullahoma, TN. I'm sure they can build your trailer to suit you.

Re: 2002 Triton Boat Trailer (tritonmanbama)

I had to replace my 1997 TR-21 - MFI trailer last year due to the same fear - is my boat going to end up on the pavement? The first thing I did was call my local Triton dealer, they quoted me $5500 for a TUBE trailer, after hearing that price I knew I would have to look elsewhere. I even called Triton directly and was told you have to buy thru a dealer and $5500 was the price.

So I got on the internet and found Hi-Tech Marine, they make adjustable I-beam aluminum bass boat trailers that use galvanized torsion bar axles. The cost was $3500 and one of their dealers met me at a local boat ramp to switch things over. I am quite happy with my purchase and I know this thing will last.

Here is there web address, they are located in Florida:

    Will,

I'm sure the fine folks at Trotter's Sales and Service (Triton Dealer) in Creola, AL could answer your question on a new "Triton" Trailer. I'm sure they can get one for you, but I'd guess a galvanized "Triton" trailer would run you around $4,000. You'll want galvanized at a minimum...aluminum would be best.

Another option would be to contact Champion Trailers in Slidell, LA. They manufacture galvanized and aluminum trailers, as well as, sell trailer parts. They can make a trailer to fit your boat and if you can get your boat over to them...they will fit your boat to the trailer before you leave with it.
