    Tandem Axle Trailer

Hey guys I was just wonering if you had any advice on making my exsisting single axle trailer into a tandem axle, I have a Float-on aluminium trailer, torsen axle that carries a 20' 6" Storm bass boat, My biggest reason for wanting to change is piece of mind (saftey) running down the highway, I went to several trailer shops around here and none of them really seemed like they wanted to help much. so if anyone has any information as to where I could take it that would be great. I have not contacted the manufacture yet but that might be an option as well. Maybe a place that would take a trade in on a tandem as well....Thanks Guys

    Re: Tandem Axle Trailer (sfstorm)

Is the trailer rated for the weight of the boat, motor, gear, etc?

    Does the trailer have brakes?
    So many honey-dos . . . . . so little motivation

    Re: Tandem Axle Trailer (taeheel2az)

I bought the trailer from Storm boats used and they said it had a 22' storm on it before, the trailer had brakes but I took them off when I bought it, the trailer is rated at 3450# per. the manufacture tag, I think I might be at the upper end of the weight limit, boat is around 1500#?, 225 johnson, 50 gallons of fuel, and 150# of fishing gear and other junk that you would normally carry in a boat..ie tools, spare prop ect.
I tow it with an F250 4x4 diesel if that makes any differance?
