bad wheel bearing and need part number help

I had an outer wheel bearing go out this past weekend and after many problems, i finally got the correct bearings to replace it. I have a tapered shaft spindle with 1 1/16" outer bearing and 1 3/8" inner bearings. I replaced it on the side of the road and need to pull it back apart to finish the job correct.
The problems are that the little castle deal that goes over the spindle nut is junk. The nut itself takes a 1 1/8 socket to loosen and that is all i really know. The washer that goes between the spindle nut and the outer bearing needs replaced as well. Anyone know where to find these and what the sizes are? Thanks for any info.

Take the old parts to your local NAPA. They should be able to get what you need.

Not so sure that i trust napa after this past weekend. I took the hub in and the old bearings and it took them about 1 1/2 hours to find the right bearings. It took me about 30 seconds on here to find them. They said they didn't have any of the castle nuts, weren't sure on the spindle washer because it was a little ground down from the bearing failure, and didn't know anything about the grease seal.

I usually have pretty good luck with them for things you'd never imagine they'd have. Maybe try another store??? Usually the best NAPA stores are the little places that do half their business with small garages and have a storefront about 8'X10'.

I do think that it depends on the person helping you, but it was a little discouraging to say the least.

The washer you refer to is called a d-washer p/n 32402U. The spindle nut is 32414U, and the retainer is 32418U. The cotter pin, 32415U. All parts are available from UFP or Waymires in Indy @ 1-800-434-4824 or http://www.waymires.com on the web. Bearings should be L68149 & L44649 with L68110 & L44610 races.

This is a perfect example of good customer service well after the sale being a good investment for a company. After seeing the great support over the years from UFP, how can anyone have less than a good impression of the company? Probably overall they've spent the cost of a single magazine ad or two on their employees helping folks here, but the goodwill and positive image they have gotten couldn't have been "bought" with years of national advertising.

Ok, got the project done this weekend and i did have a slight variation. The disc brake axle have tie down brakes on them and had a race part number of L68111 for the inner bearing. I went to put in the L68110 race and it just dropped in without touching the sides. Just wanted to let anyone else know that may have that setup. The other race and the bearing numbers were the same.
Ironically, both of the tie down brake bearings on both sides were showing wear and needed to be replaced. The other ufp hubs were still perfect even though they are about twice the age. Thanks,
