Cushioned ball mount with trailer brakes ??

I am looking at one of these ball mounts to help with the clunking on starts and stops with my 2005 Marine Masters single axle trailer w/brakes. Will this mount have a negative effect on the surge brakes?? Anyone use on of these?? This is what I am talking about

No effect as the boat will still shove on the ball the same...

If you have a "clunck" on stop and take off, most likely you have a bad shock or air in the lines, try re-bleeding first, read your owners manual too..
