    champion trailer bearing seals- Emergency

Have to go on a 6 hour trip this weekend. Checked bearings and replaced bearing seals on trailer with correct size seals but the problem is that the seals are not the double lipped spring loaded style that came off the trailer (could not get them at any shop in town). Is there any problem with driving on them or must I have the spring loaded style.
I will not be putting the trailer into water, just hauling. Is the double lip just to keep the water out by pressurizing the hub? Don't want to end up on the side of the road.

Trailer is 2005 5 lug champion trailer and hauls a 2005 Champion 21sx

A majority of trailers on the road probably have the older style single lip seals and although the spring loaded are better I don't know why you would have any issues, particularly since you aren't putting the trailer into the water.

if you don't put the trailer in the water you will be ok. The double lip seal means one lip is to keep the grease in, same as a single lip, the second lip is to keep the water and other debris out. I have never heard of any boat trailer having just single lip seals from the factory. And I would change them back to the double lip seals as soon as I returned. I also keep a watch on my bearings while on any trip. Everytime I stop for gas or food I take a walk around and touch the hubs to see if they are getting hot.
