Axle out of alignment after spare came loose

Thought that would get your attention... Traveling home from he lake doing about 65 mph and thought I had been hit by a car, the boat bucked like a bull. We got pulled over and could not find anything out of whack. My son noticed the spare was missing.
Either my bolt broke or the nut backed off, I had a lock washer and lock nut. Anyways I took my boat out this weekend and noticed the outside of my tires on the rear axle was wearing and by the time I got home steel was showing through on the left side and a definite wear pattern on the right side just not as bad. The spare bounced around under the trailer and hit axles and cross braces.

How do I realign and should I file a claim with insurance in case the trailer is really damaged? The last cross brace near the stern of the boat has a dent fron the spare. I have an EZ load dual axle trailer/2003 Skeeter SX200.

I'd be looking for a <U>good</U> trailer shop. The braces on trailers aren't going to do their jobs if they've been hit like that. Your axle may have been bent or knocked out of alignment, or the trailer itself may have been bent so badly that the axle isn't in the right place anymore.

I'd be worried that it's beyond economical repair if it's more than the axle, so I'd be talking to the insurance company.
