    2007 150 etec question

I have an 07 150 etec and it has run awesome and had no troubles at all. I hope this is not anything to worry about, but in my garage last night i noticed what appeared to be very small amount of gearcase lube coming out of the small little water drain hole above the water pickups on the side of the gearcase. Could this be anything? I was hoping maybe a little just got in there when they changed the gear lube or something.

See your dealer. There was a bad batch of orings delivered to Evinrude back in '07 or so that sealed OK at first, but later the rubber hardened and started to leak. The new improved orings are brown colored. Your dealer should be aware of the oring problem, change the driveshaft seals and water pump (if needed) at the same time.
