Each and every tweak, takes away from reliability is the biggest reason. The gurus here go for longevity more so than tweaks. There are websites for tweaking the Johnny/Rudes. Try Scream and Fly or Montys Racing.
The HO versions are the hotter motors. You can't do much with the new DFI/E-tecs due to the computer. Plus if you get inside one and it is under warranty and something goes pop you are SOL as your warranty is voided. Most folks don't have the skills or tools to take a die grinder to a cylinder and open up ports etc. Or have a surface grinder to shave heads. One slip and you have a junk block. If we told you to take 10* off the exhaust port and you went 12* that may be just enough to turn your good running motor into an anchor. Then you would be mad at us.![]()
