    towing help???

I now own an 86' RANGER 370 v w/ a 93' 150 HP Faststrike!!! Will post pictures soon. I have a towing question. My T100 has a factory installed hitch that is on the bumper. The bumper and owners guide states that the truck can tow up to 5000lbs. I realize a hitch installed on the frame is ideal but will this suffice??? I have heard people say yes and no and would like a few more opinions. Thanks.

i towed using the bumper hitch on my s10 for 100k miles with no problems. I would have put a hitch on it if the trailer wasnt level though.

I have towed on a bumper before with no issue. (I had a smaller boat at the time)

But, a class 3 hitch should be under $200.00 and is safer, more stable, and more useful for other purposes than a bumper hitch. They can usually be installed in less than an hour with basic tools. Most are made to match to factory holes without drilling.

Plus, there is less chance you will tear up the truck when you bump the trailer backing down on it.

Do it right and you won't regret it.
