I did my bearings yesterday and used up the last of my OMC wheel bearing grease. I know that there are some compatibility issues with grease, what can and cant i mix this grease with? The old grease is red, can i mix it with all red greases?
Thanks

I would think any bearing grease would be just fine.

Some will turn the carrier to soup when they are mixed. Does the OMC grease container/tube by any chance say who made it?
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,

i saw so many different kinds when i went to buy another tube of marine bearing grease
Bombardier Marine Bearing Grease is a tough aluminum-complex grease designed to ensure a longer life for your boat trailer's wheel bearings, heavy loaded bearings and other parts where water exists.
Features:
Excellent water and salt protection - Will not wash out in fresh or salt water. Resists water absorption and maintains consistency
Rust and oxidation protection - even in salt water
High temperature performance - Up to 350° F
Extreme pressure / Anti-wear - Stands up against shock loading and severe loading conditions. Does not thin down and run out of bearing
Just found this site to answer my question, pretty good info on here

Good chart. I bookmarked it. I've always just avoided mixing grease and if I had to switch grease I repacked the bearings. Probably the non-thinking way of doing it.![]()
