    Bleeding Trailer Brakes?????

I just replaced my Master Cylinder, I have a UFP A-60 acuator. 1998 Triton Trailer.

I have primed the master cylinder, but I can't get the fluid to bleed out the brake cylinders correctly, it just spits a small amout of fluid & alot of air. I've never seen anything like this before.
Ive blead the brakes on hundreds of cars & never had any problems.

Whats the trick to bleeding trailer brakes???
    Thanks alot

Make sure to prime the master cylinder correctly, then the rest should fall into place.

The master cylinder needs to be below the bleed screws in the back, so, make sure you lower your tongue jack when bleeding, it's not like a car..on this system it's mainly gravity thats getting the air out, the fluid helps it along..

even with the power bleeder, the master cyliner, the master needs to be below the bleed screws...see above...

Re: Bleeding Trailer Brakes????? (Lyn O. Dyer)

I lowered the tongue like you said, still had the same problem, then my buddy noticed fluid dripping out of the tongue. Come to find out I had a brake line with a small pin hole in it, not from rust but from wearing on the hole they put in the side of the tongue tubing for the brake line to pass to the side tubing. Well I pulled the brake line out & replaced it. Bleeding was much easier & alot less swearing with a new brake line.

I did come up with an idea to make bleeding alittle easier, before I put the brake line onto the master cylinder I attached a vacuum hose to it. I then attached the vacuum line to a new pump style oil can full of brake fluid & pumped new fluid through the line & out the wheel cylinder bleeders. This seemed to flush out the old fluid & air alot easier than pumping the master cylinder with the screwdriver.
I still had to bleed the rest of the air out with the screwdriver, but it did seem to get most of the air out.

    Thanks for the advice
