What oil in rangertrail oil bath hubs?

Anyone know this? Is it 80-90 wt and is it possible to change it out? 3 appear almost empty...just got the rig this spring, but don't see where it might be coming out...thought if I filled em' i'd see the leak.

Use 50 wt motor oil. Valvoline 50 wt racing motor oil is what to buy. If you are losing oil, it is probably leaking out the back of he hub through the rear seal. Should have oil on the back inside of the wheel rim. Here is some help from the stickies up above.

I found the National seal locally, pt # 473317, as was called out in the GOLD hub directions.

They are only .312" tall. Whereas the originals in the back of the hub is nearly 1/2". OD and ID are the same.

I assume ( ) I just tap em' in flush with the back of the hub so that they still sit on the seal surface on the axle stub?

Yea, just tap them in until they are flush with the out side of the hub. The ones you have in there now are the double lip seal that Ranger uses and the only place I know where to get them is from Ranger. The National seal will work, the double seal is better, maybe you can call Ranger and order a couple, and the next time they leak, you can put the double seal ones in.
