What is the benefit of changing the thermostats to the newer Etec stats. Thanks

You can run the better spark plugs.

Yep, and a better, cleaner idle with less carbon buildup

Do the stats run the engine hotter or colder. And what plugs would be the better plugs. Just trying to understand what is going on. I change my plugs every year, only put about 35 hrs per yr. And they need it. Sorry engine is a 2002 e200fplsn 200hp. Thanks

They will make it run hotter. Use the optional QC10WEP plugs gapped to .028.

You haven't read the factory sparkplug chart that we have pinned on the main page?

Can the QC10WEP be run with the older stats. I feel like I've been getting a slower start with the new plugs combo'd w/ the original stats? Motor is an E250 FPXSTA

    Re: (togntime)

Is this a tech bulletin from BRP . The QC10pep will be a hotter plug than the QC12pep. Makes sense for a cleaner burn. Do the new e-tec t stats open up at a lower or higher temp than the stock 2002 Ficht stats. Sorry if I sound like I don't trust you guys. Just trying to learn. 2002 Ficht 200hp non HO

Call the factory or do a search! Be sure you do not talk to an imposter if you call and don't believe everything you read on the internet if you use the search function.

    Re: (SEAHORSE)

I'm not sure how to take the last post. I was just trying to learn something about the thermostat and plug change out I seen on a previous thread. If you are changing plugs and thermostats, there has to be a link between the two of them. What is it. I visit this site daily, looking through many forums. And I do value the information that is on the BBC. Thanks To ALL
