    08 250 HO E250DHLSCS

Serial # 05226834 Does anyone know if this motor needs the lower unit BRP update? I called a dealer and they say I need to have a letter or find the number of the service bulliten. Anyone have that number?

Update !!!! I called my dealer and he ran my numbers and said he could not help me to call BRP. I called, the tech blew me off pretty quick, said it was up to the dealer and their was no service bulliten on the 08 250. I called my dealer back and he suggested I call the BRP rep back and let him know my issues. When i called BRP back I explain to the tech that I have had several overheat alarms in the summer, and my rig has never jumped out of the hole and it takes 100 yards with the livewells full. I asked him to please just record my complaint I have not taken the boat in for any service. I have called my dealer and told him about my issues and they tell my everything is normal and not to worry. I'm not asking for a new lower unit, i just want them to know I am having issues. The rep said someone will call me that was over a week ago. Maybe I talked to the wrong person, but in my opinion customer satisfaction was last on their list.

An 08 should be covered under the update option. Your experience with Evinrudes customer service is not typical, they are usually very helpful. If you want the update call another dealer who is willing to help you, you should have not had to call Evinrude to begin with.
BTW, this should fix your concern with a slow holeshot and will have much more water pressure at speeds, which should help with your overheat issue in the summertime.

Shelly, what kind of performance change did you get? The dealership informed me I would lose 4 mph top end but have a much better hole shot.

    Re: (ddk)

I have called three different dealers in my area. I give them my numbers, and they all say " no service bulliten exist" I'm starting to think this is only available to a select few people. No phone call from anyone in over three weeks. What scares me is I use my boat on the weekends only, it probably gets 50 hrs a year or so. I just don't want to be stuck with a blown PH due to these problems and have no warranty left.

If you want the new gearcase, which I would recommend, give our service department a call. Ask for John Kirby, he will get everything scheduled and coordinated with BRP to have your parts and new prop waiting. You can bring it down hang out for an hour and leave with a brand new gearcase. I'm not sure why the other dealers are giving you a hard time but we want your business.
Just a heads up BRP is not paying for a water pump, I would recommend you pay to have a new one installed at the same time.
