Hey guys, i have a 99 Ficht 225, model # E225FPLEEO, ser # Q04662650, and was wondering if this motor needs the exhaust pressure sensor cleaned. I have not done this. I de carbed last spring which produced no significant changes. Thought i'd give this a look while i'm doing my spring maintenance but have no idea where to look for it.
Also, I have done a bunch of searching and was wondering if there's any risk of damage switching to the hotter plug and t-stat setup in an older engine. My motor runs pretty well, no major issues, and i don't want to send it over the edge.
My last issue is a fuel issue... i think. Upon initial start at the lake or a prolonged stop while fishing, i seem to be losing fuel to the motor and have to crank for a long time. I'm getting ready to change the fuel filter and plugs, which might fix the issue. I changed the fuel line and primer bulb already just as normal maintenance. that doesn't seem like it would affect the fuel 'prime', but i guess anything's possible. This weekend it took quite a while to re start. It eventually did, and ran fine, but the prolonged cranking is nerve racking after having killed an already taxed battery last summer in a tourney.... I had to throw back an entire limit and missed weigh in....
