If you're cold-blooded or it's severe cold, I'd recommend insulated fleece glomitts (get the ones with magnetic fasteners). If it's chilly or medium cold I have a couple pairs of different weight gloves with a slice at the first joint of the shooting finger.

I have a pair of the fleece mittens that come apart in the middle and velcro to back of my hand. I use them when I'm duck hunting and they work really well.

Them be like the glomitts I'm talking about but I hate the velcro fasteners grabbing other fabric, etc. making lots of noise. True glomitts have the half finger gloves inside e.g. http://www.cabelas.com/mens-co...ID=NA
