The itch is burning a hole through my wallet. Ordered a new call, getting some new deeks in a couple weeks. Checking on the woodie hole this weekend, hopefully got some activity going on. Early honker season is less than a month away![]()

I have been ready since season ended last year. This year our state is changing it up a little bit. Split zones and a week earlier opener for the northern zone. On opener our state has always had a late start time(which i hated). So now instead of waiting til 9am to shoot, and watching all the ducks fly over and land in the dekes throughout the morning. we can finally blast them 1/2 hour before sunrise. Thank God!!! Also can shoot 3 instead of 2 woodies and added a suzie to the daily bag. With the very wet spring and all the standing water we have still, hopefully there will be more ducks flying through the state![]()

We always have a good early season come mid-September. It's makin me sick thinkin about it! I'll be gettin the night sweats as the season gets closer![]()

We'll be lucky to see any decent WMA food plots around the Nashville/Old Hickory area come in this year. We also ended up with a blind picked over by 98% of the folks who were drawn out of the hat before us.![]()
One thing for sure is that duckies like flying south through Arkansas!! One day. . . one day. . .![]()

I am very lucky to have some really good hunting areas around. I believe that photo was taken about 8:30 AM after taking our limits...does that help ease the pain??![]()

ABSOLUTELY can't wait. this will be my first year i will get to hunt my dog. He was 6 months old at the end of season in january but took him on 2 hunts at the end of year when it was a little warmer and he already has 14 birds under his belt. Nothing like seeing shadows with the sun at your back and you look up and all you see is orange feet and green heads!!!!!!!! Come on winter
Anybody get the new Cabelas waterfowl with the guy holding a canvasback on the front? I love that picture! Hard to beat canvasbacks

If I was loaded - I bet there wouldn't be a dozen things in that catalog I wouldn't buy!
There's like 5 million different decoys you can buy. I think we need the UV feather paint for that "edge".![]()

I know! I wonder if that has been proven that birds see each other like that (and I mean proven by scientists other than those at Flambeau) Atleast they're cheap. I'll probably buy a dozen and try em out this year just for kicks
Better yet, im gonna "flock" the heads of all my decoys so the birds will work closer :)
YES I am more than ready! Got a new Momarsh layout boat late last winter and I am ready for some hunting.
Sometime in the future I'm going to have a layout boat!
