I find most tree stands pretty comfortable for handgun hunting. Currently I have a Loggy Bayou Cajun climber stand and it works great.

The only tree stand I tried that I couldn't stand was the Tree Lounge.....I hated that stand from the first day I hunted in it.

I pistol hunt from a variety of stands, from loc-on types to climbers. Pretty much all of them will work. As a matter of fact, handgun hunting makes stand selection much easier. I also bow hunt, and you have to pay attention to things that might interfere with your bow. Pistols are small enough you can work them around most any obstructions.

I don't use a rest, I regularly shoot at 50 yds with my handguns off hand and hold my range when hunting to less than 50....no rest required....I'm also a huge fan of Holosights, they make your position much less critical...you don't have to worry about sight radius, picture, or form....if the dot in a donut is where you want to hit you just pull the trigger.....you'll hit where the dot is....always.

Hey u just gave me a idea with the dot optic's. I hunt with 7'30 water and a 35 remington in TC. Just how do you think the bushnell dot would hold up with big recoil pistols?

It will hold up well but if you can swing the extra for the Holosight they are worth the difference in my opinion.

Bigfishingstud just put a Bushnell red dot on his 44 mag so he could give you another opinion of red dots on Contenders.
