Motor is 04 225 FHLSRM. I've recently been having an issue shifting from reverse to neutral only, neutral into reverse is fine and to or from forward is fine. The shifter gets to the neutral point and starts to feel very tight, it's hard to explain but feels like the shifter won't go into the neutral detent. With effort it eventually overshoots straight into forward.

The problem only happens on the water with the motor running - it will shift to and from reverse with engine stopped, and IIRC it will shift fine in all directions with motor idling on a hose pipe too.

Has anyone seen these symptoms before? Shift rod height? Binding cable? Appreciate your insight.
