Friends brother went to hang a stand getting ready for bow season today and fell about 16 feet, broke both legs, an ankle and a wrist. Pretty much put an end to his season before it started.

I used to never wear one until 2yrs ago a friend fell out of a stand, it did alot of damage to his leg and his ankle is now totally fused with a permanent bad limp! Yes I wear one anytime I get off of the ground in fact I was hanging stands this weekend and put on a linemans belt before my feet left the ground!
For those that think you are invincible and physical enough to not worry about it, Think again! The guy I metioned above was all of these and was only like 16' off the ground, he had a wasp buzz him he swatted at it... gameover, it has ruined his life in more ways than one!
If I don't wear one for me I do it for my family in no way do I want them facing what him or his family is!
I don't see any reason not to wear one. If you have a decent harness, you don't even know it's on. Set it up correctly and it doesn't hinder you movement at all. Like others said wear it for your family if nothing else.
Not only do I wear mine any time I'm off the ground, I never hang a stand from a ladder or tree steps. If the tree allows, I put my climber on the tree and climb, secure it place, strap safety harness to the tree then stand up on the base and hang my lock on stands. I've watched nervously while friends hang on with one hand and try to hang a stand while standing on a peg screwed into the tree. Not for me.
