    Remington 870 question...

I have had this 870 about 28 to 29 years now and have shot A LOT of rounds through it from skeet to ducks and geese etc. I have had it "put away" in my safe for over 10 ears now as I lost interest in hunting. Did some skeet shooting over the weekend and really enjoyed what I have been missing, so I want to use my own gun next time. I remember the last few times I shot this gun the action got sticky after the shot when sliding to eject.I would like to get to the slides around the trigger assembly but have never pulled the pins for the trigger assembly on anything. should I attempt this or is it something for a gunsmith?
Let me finish by saying I am not a newbie to guns. Just have never taken one apart to the "next level" before.

VERY SIMPLE JOB, take the screw off the front forearm, slide the barrel off. Pop the front and rear pin out, drop the trigger mechanism out and your there... NO WORRIES AT ALL....

Very simple to disassemble an 870 to clean. You can also go on Remington's website and download an owner's manual. Has step-by-step instructions for taking apart and reassembly.

Pins are held in by friction. You can take a small punch and tap them out either side. I would do this last after removing barrel, bolt, and carrier.

I've even used a golf tee to do the job. Works well--no risk of scratching receiver. The 870 is one of the easiest weapons to strip and clean after a rainy day in the marsh.
Some people are so judgemental. You can tell just by looking at 'em.--Some random meme

Yep very easy, my daughter watched me a few times then she wanted to try...She nows clean my 870 everytime I use it and sometimes in between ... But I haven't got the nerve up to let her tackle my 1100's and 1187 just yet.
