The weather sucks bad! I have yet to shoot a big buck and have not even seen a shooter since the first week of November. 65 degree highs and lows in the 40's...our rut sucks this year...I wanna cry

I feel your pain. We haven't had a frosty morning in a couple of weeks and daytime temps 65-75. That and 2 of the shooters I'd been seeing got run over.

I was on my way to Chanute this morning, I was on Shaw road right before I crossed the river, there was a stud chasing a doe in a feild. I came back through there about an hour later and they both were laying down right in the middle of the feild. He looked to be a 10 or 12 point at least 20" and real heavy antlers. I wish they grew like that around here.

yah been there done that one too. from 9:00 to 3:00 this year it has been the hottest temps yet. I sat this morning and saw one little buck. Gonna go tomorrow night and thursday most of the day til family time. I will get one...just gotta put the time in. Already racked up atleast 60 hours

Latest rut I think I have ever seen, took a walk thru state park that had just been hunted and saw at least 100 fresh scrapes yesterday. Weather change coming, hang tough. I lucked into a good one last day of bow season so I'm giving advice now

I agree, this is an incredibly late rut....if they rut hard at all! I'm beginning to wonder if this years rut won't end up like this years fishing season, slow, steady and slightly below average.......I've put in probaly 40 hours this year, and have yet to see a shooter out of the stand. I have walked across two P&Ys walking back to my vehicle though......

Keep at it and one WILL walk by. Are you holding out for a certain size? Is calling and rattling working over there?

I blind rattled in my muley and a few days before that I rattled in a 150 class whitey but a ground hunter shot it before it got to me. That was 2 weeks ago today.

I feel your pain, took my vacation and hunted seven days straight. Three days with a bow and four with a rifle, sat 82 hours in the stand and only saw two bucks and a few does. I was moving my stand about 1:00 on the last day of bow season and while I has putting my climber on a tree turned around and had a 170 class buck standing 10-15 yards from me staring at me, we stood looking at each other for about 10 seconds and off he went, never saw him again.

I am after a giant. I have a 162" eight point in my office, a 160" 9 point at my house, a 153" 10 point and a 145" 9 point at the house. Not to mention some smaller ones I broke down and shot years in the past...I am a trophy guy but I am not tootin my own hord . We farm for the wildlife, food plots-antlermax you name it...we feed it Saw a giant 150" perfect framed 8 point yesterday morning...so glad to see him around, he was one I videod this last summer in our bean field with two other bigger ones..had him at 25 yards with no shot...too much brush...I have videos of some nice bucks this year in my tree but no real mature bucks until this one...so finally we have cold weather and they are moving..I am pumped!!! wish me luck...and as always...I wish everyone else luck as well

Don't worry Tyson, i'll slip over there with my BANG BOW and take care of them for you your right we're going to have the cold weather the 1st day of Rifle season
