    BowTech Bows

Any Bowtech bow owners here? I just recently bought an Admiral and cannot believe how well it shoots.

I've got 2 right now a Blackhawk which is my hunting bow and an Allegiance which is for 3-D shoots. They are an excellent shooting bow, they are quite fast but still have a forgiving brace height. My next bow will also be a Bowtech

If anybody wants some quality entertainment go shooting with a diehard Matthews fan and run arrows through a chrono. A coworkers 340 IBO Matthews Black Max ended up shooting down in the 270's My Allegiance @ 28" draw hit 303 He was more than a little upset

Was he shooting 70 lbs 30" draw and a 350 grain arrow, and nothing on the string?

And also, isn't the Black Max like a 10 year old bow?

    Re: BowTech Bows (Stratos201basser)

My last 2 have been Bowtech. Had a VFT extreme I sold on here that was nice and just picked up a 07' Guardian (see my post below titled "New Hunting Toy". This bow is honestly the quietest, fastest , most shock free bow I have ever shot, it is a tack driver. The only thing I wish I had done was get a 60lb draw, the 70lb'er is a bit stiffer on the draw than I am used too. I have it for sale actually, only to get another in a 60lb. Bowtech makes a sweet bow.

It was set at 63 lbs with a 29" draw. Yes his bow is approx. 5 yrs older than mine. Have they changed what 340 FPS is in the last 10 yrs Anyway you look at it his bow had less on the string than my Bowtech, he had 1" more draw and we both shoot arrows that are 5grs per pound of draw weight.

    Re: BowTech Bows (DIXIEDOG)

Dixie dog, Matthews makes an extremely nice bow also and its really not just about the speed. True, Bowtech is generally a tad faster BUT Matthews make some of the smoothest drawing, sweetest bows out there. The guy I hunt with shoots one and its a quiet, accurate deer kill'in machine.

    Re: BowTech Bows (PSM207)

I hunted with a BowTech Mighty Mite for a number of years. Very good little bow. Took a number of deer with it. I would still be hunting with it, but I had surgery on my right shoulder 4 years ago. I didn't know if I would ever be able to shoot a compound again, so I sold it. Hunted with a crossbow for a couple of years....

Finally got my shoulder rehabbed to where I could draw a bow again and bought a Mathews Drenalin. Don't have a thing against BowTech, and they will be at the top of the list when I go bow shopping again........

Isn't comparing the speed of a binary cam bow to a single cam bow kinda like the E-Tec commercial comparing the 2 stroke E-Tec to the four stroke Yamaha?

Bows like boats and motors, I don't care what anybody uses as long as they like it and don't start running down other peoples equipment or bragging how superior theirs are when a lot of things can be brought up to dispel their false sense of having the best!
I'm sure the guy's shooting the Monster or the PSE X-Forces, Martin Slayers, Pearson's with the R2B2 cams will gladly tell you to "Get Some Of This"!
Now That would be Quality Entertainment!

This is a false statement when speaking of the Black Max bows, they are a speed bow. They are anything but smooth or quiet, they were built to be faster than anything else out there. I would agree Matthews makes many excellent bows and if I was going to get something other than a Bowtech I would strongly consider Matthews but for now I'll stick with the best

Take it easy guys! There is no need for product bashing.

Hey, I'll have to post a pic of the arrow I split with another arrow. No kidding, I did this today with my Bowtech Admiral.

    Re: BowTech Bows (DIXIEDOG)

I shot the Guardian for a few weeks and just really never got comfortable with the draw cycle. It had a solid back wall, held well and shot quiet, fast and accurate but I just did not care for the stiffness on the draw. Anyone who can handle (or likes) a stiffer draw with a short valley should definitely give the Guardian a try-good deals right now on a great bow. I actually traded the Guardian this afternoon for a Matthews Switchback. I should be able to shoot 65#-67# comfortably with the solo-cam set-up, even in cold weather. I gave up some speed, but usually you have to for smoothness.

The Bowtechs can be setup to have a larger valley also, were your cams set for performance?
