    Reading trim gauge?

What's the best way to run? Should the trim gauge always read level? Or should you keep raising the trim until you get the max speed or RPM without changing the throttle? If you know what I'm trying to say! How do you know that the trim is in the best position?

Ofcourse you know that when taking off you should be trimmed down to come on plane. trimming the motor up is going too bring up the bow, which in turn gives you rpm 's and speed. Normally you will be trimmed all the way up when you are at wide open throttle. In some cases , normally in a ranger , the boat will perform slightly better when you bring the trim back down from full just a little bit. You will have to get to know your boat and see where you get the best performance. If your boat starts too porpise , normally that means you are trimmed up to far and you are not giving enough throttle . you need to trim down or increase throttle. Like i said though , its just a matter of getting to know where your boat will perform best. Good luck and stay safe.

Thankyou! I wasn't sure! I didn't know that it was O.K. to trim all the way up. I'll try it and bring it down and see what it does. I know it effects the steering also!

    Re: Reading trim gauge? (RDOCK)

First time I ever drove a bass boat (a really nice Gambler!), I was amazed to find out how similar it is to riding a dirt bike. Just in case you can ride a mo'cycle. I don't ride on the street, so I can't comment on any similarity to that.

One thing I was told was that WHEN the boat starts getting squirrely, don't back off on the throttle, just tap the down trim button once or twice from where you're trim is at. That works, and you don't lose a lot of momentum. If you pull back on the throttle to get it under control, then you will likely porpoise and look like a rookie.

If you're blasting down a canyon and the boat skids at all in the corners, tap the down trim a few times.

I think these suggestions should help. These boats can hurt you, so be careful!

Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.

I killed a 12-pack just to watch it die.
