i have a 2008 Nitro Z9. 2010 250 Pro XS. The speedometer tubing keeps blowing off and spraying water. I don't need the speedometer. Is it ok to kink the tube and tie it off?

if it is the type thats on the hull just pull the hose from it & be done with it. I did that to my Ally.

Just jam some mud, sand or small slivers of wood into the water pick-up. It'll happen eventually, anyway!![]()
Speedometer on console. Tubing attaches to back of it. Not sure where the other end of tube is. It's bundled with other wires. I do know a lot of water comes through it when it pops off.
It come's from the lower unit you can cut it and plug it and be done with it.

Put the hose back on the speedometer and secure with a small wire tie. It'll stay put.

Mine used to pop off at high speed. I just cut a half inch or so off and stuck it back on, hasn't come off since.

+1....the tubing streches and allows it to come off under pressure![]()
you can disconnect it and plug it at the lower unit. with gps, its kinda silly to have one
