    HELP WITH MY 1991 BASS TRACKER TX17

    JUST BOUGHT A 1991 TX17 THIS PAST WEEKEND. EVERYTHING RUNS GREAT AND IT IS CLEAN AS A WHISTLE BUT I WANT TO REPLACE THE FUSE PANEL. I ALREADY HAVE THE NEW BLADE STYLE PANEL. JUST NEED SOME HELP ON EXACTLY HOW TO GO ABOUT IT. DIAGRAMS, STEPS, ETC...

    1) Find main power wire(both positive and negative) going from your battery to your existing fuse panel. It should be 10 guage (red and black).

    2) Make sure an inline fuse is installed at the battery on the positive line. The closer to the battery the better. I would suggest a 20 or 30 A fuse.

    3) Crimp on two ring terminals on the lead wire at the console and install on the posts of the fuse block.

    4) Then install your existing circuits on each gang of the fuse panel with the appropriate fuse for each circuit.

    5) Reconnect your positive and negative at the battery.

    You will need to get some 16 guage insulated female terminal connectors for the blade style panel. To prevent corrosion it is a good idea to dip each terminal in vasoline or dielectric grease. Another good idea it to take some pliers and very slightly close each female connector prior to inserting them on the fuse block so you have a nice tight connection that will not vibrate loose.
