    saltwater in motor

    My friend has a johnson 200 he ran in salt water about four times and says he flushed the motor real good. We had the cowl off the engine and on the heads the little bit of gasket that sticks out has a white powder on it do you think there has been any damange done? oh yeah its a 1998 johnson

    A gentle rinse, dry, and a light dose of pure silicone spray and the motor will be fine.

    Just watch out if the trim motor needs to be replaced. Could take awhile.
