    The Perfect Split...

This was an interesting image - split a tree and more trees - showing Humminbird's 180 Degree Coverage.

Here's DI of the same Image:

Great and interesting pictures. Doug, can you tell me what the lines are on the strip in the middle. Is that a set of parallel railroad tracks or some sort of noise interference or just a bad road grading job? Thanks

The lines on the LEft side of the water column?

That is the transducer sound waves bouncing off the sponson and Eladder on the jackplate. I need to lwer my transducer a little if I wanted to clear up a hair.

Thanks Doug, that makes sense and that explains what the lines were. I was just curious. Great picture, as you can see, you have gotten me into studying and asking questions about everything I don't completely understand.

    Re: The Perfect Split... (stillbear)

Perfect it is. Got a question. The DI shows narrow channel (steep drop) while the SI shows slow tapering drop so which one is more accurate?

    Re: The Perfect Split... (saywhat)

It's more an optical illusion in SI because of the increased coverage area versus DI. Only looking at 7' drop by DI returns. In SI you are looking at 200' of bottom where DI is much narrower area around 17-20' of coverage since I was in wide DI mode.
