what should i be seeing in these pics?

i'm still pretty bad at reading the images. here are some random pics that i've taken over the last few months. what should i be seeing in the pics?

#1 Bridge Pilings, a tree before the pilings on the DI, small fish between the pilings


#2 A couple fish and some baitfish


#3 Baitfish on the DI and several fish on the right SI

#4 I have no clue what this is, concrete slabs?. There is a tree with limbs and a few tree trunks as well.




#5 Baitfish on DI and left SI. Tree trunk on the left SI. Is that a couple of fish suspended off the bottom on the right SI across from the bait ball?


#6 Some tree trunks and baitfish on the left SI. Any fish in this picture?

#7 Some wierd point on the bottom with a big fish over it. What is the really bright return on the point in the DI and SI?


#8 A really nice tree with a large fish on DI and a three fish on the SI.


#9 I love this tree picture. Has some baitfish and 2 or 3 fish on the SI as well

its all pretty close to default settings. i think contrast is 13, not sure about the rest

Thanks for the compliments on the pics. I re-titled the pictures with what I see. So what should I be seeing other than the obvious that I titled the pictures? How do you all figure out what type of fish they are and how big they are? I think I'm getting better at reading the images but I'm having a hard time relating the images to fishing. I have managed to find a school of white trout in Back Bay Biloxi but that has been the only time I have seen fish on the DI/SI and been able to catch them.

Am I right in the following description of picture number 10. There are several fish in the image. Some are just coming onto the screen at the top so they are immediately under and behind me. There are other fish that I have already passed over, but how far behind me are they? Most of the new fish at the top of the screen are also on the left SI in 10-25 feet of water while the fish that I passed up at the bottom of the screen are in 5-10 feet of water. I'm just guessing that the fish are 15-25 feet to the left of the boat. I don't see any baitfish on the image so are the fish just hanging out there? What type of fish and how big are they in reality? Bass, Gar, Catfish? There are a couple small depressions on the bottom but other than that the image is void of any structure. Just seems odd to find schooled up fish with no structure and no food unless the fish are being nomadic and traveling to another location with structure and food. That leads me to believe that the fish might be inactive to a point. I fish this spot for 20-30 minutes with swimbaits, swim jigs, and crank baits and didn't get a single bite. I know, it could have been the wrong bait, wrong color, wrong retrieve, wrong whatever. If i recall, the water temp was about 55 degrees. So what am I reading wrong and what am I doing wrong to catch fish off the SI/DI?

Look at the big fish between the blocks! And A school off the ledge on the left side. Great Images! And looks like your getting the hang on interpretation. Looks like labeled very close IMHO.

The one with the pyramid shape: the bright return appears to be a metal band/ring. If you look you can see the circle shape in the pyramid...You may have found king tuts tomb...
