    ceramic tile job

Getting ready to do a bathroom. The house sits on a concrete slab so I am pretty sure I can lay right on top of the concrete. How long do I need to wait for the tile to set before I can grout? Trying to figure out if this needs to be an overnight job or can I get it done in the same day.

variety of factors play into it...but the bottom line is the thinset has to set up...plan for overnight to be safe...

+1 I would definately wait overnight. You have to be able to get on the tile and push the grout in and if it is not set up you can move the tiles and create a huge mess.

Better safer than sorry and it all depends on how wet you mix it and the size of the notch but 24 hours min is the norm. A little tip if your running tile on an angle or a very large room = snap your strait line and run all your full tiles then the next day go back and make all your cut pcs and install them, wait your 24 hours and then grout

Thanks everyone. Trying to figure out how to do the job and get the boat in the water in the same weekend. Have to have priorities.

    Make sure slab is OK
No stress cracks,etc-----might need crack suppression material
    Age of concrete?

don't use the quick curing thin set unless you know what you're doing as it will not leave any margin for error.....jmo
