    Spits N Sputters. Also dies in gear

    PROBLEM SOLVED. PLEASE DELETE


    I have a 1995 70hp Evinrude. E70TLEOR. Most of the time it will idle. But if it coughs. It dies. When you put it in gear and take off it falls on its face and dies. Seems to run fine @ top end. The carbs have been rebuilt. The VRO pump has been removed and replaced with a new fuel pump. (Not the VRO style.) We are mixing the oil to 50:1. Compression is 150-148 on all three cylinders. The Pulse valve is blue in color but haven't messed with that. Any ideas

    If I was ambitious I would check out the intake manifold gasket.
