    Lower unit for 1993 Johnson 225 Venom

    Looking for a lower unit for a 225 Johnson Venom 1993 model.

    Is this the complete lower unit or just the casing?

    You will need to use your drive shaft and shift rod and add fluid. Ready to bolt on.

    One last question I hope. What is the shaft length on this unit? 20 or 25?

    Doesn't matter on a lower unit as you will be installing your upper drive shaft and shift rod on this lower. But to answer your question the lower unit came off of a 25" motor. To remove your drive shaft simply clamp a couple of pairs of vice grips on the drive shaft and give them a few smacks with a 3 lb sledge hammer and it will come right out. The shift rod unscrews from the lower.

    do you have the other tools to get the pinnon nut off? i dont think i spelld that right

    No need to pull the pinion gear or nut on a two piece drive shaft. The lower drive shaft stays in the LU. If it was a one piece drive shaft then you would have to pull off the pinion nut and gear to remove it.
